During my stay at the small village I have been surprised by the impact that a micro credit programme can give to the social and economical family development. The women power on which development is built it is even more fascinating. Muzuane’s life conditions are significantly below the occidental standards from the hygienic, alimentary, healthy, educational point of view. ADPP Mozambique understood that development can also came from the heart of the hut: the woman.
The micro credit programme empowers women bringing out their entrepreneurial abilities and rebuilding families economy and conditions from the inside. Entrusted with a little loan, women are able to develop –along time- their small business reaching an economic solidity for their families. Consequently they became able to take care of the children’s education and health. Development is on their own hands now.
The most important achievement is how women start looking at themselves. Women acquire a broader vision of what their capacities and possibilities are and understand that they are not a burden to society but they are able to play an active and important role for the community development.
This time I would like to catch the world in a positive way, testifying an excellent example of human development. This is an evidence of the rebuilding phase of an African society that has been warn out by centuries of colonization and decades of a violent civil war that left deep wounds. My shoots are focusing on women as strength and hope for self development, and on micro credit program as a concrete opportunity for individuals to own and carry on their life, their aims, their hopes, their willingness.
