Cyclone Nargis moved across southern Myanmar on the evening of May 2, 2008, leaving a trail of death and destruction before dying out the next day. It devastated much of the fertile Irrawaddy Delta and Yangon, the nation's main city. Nearly 85,000 people died; a year later, an additional 54,000 people are still listed as missing.
The volunteer members of Myanmar Red Cross Society were active in helping during the first moments of the Nargis cyclone area in Myanmar. They gave aid to help and support the people from this area in Myanmar. They gave the women and children health care and nursing. They nursed many people in the shelters for a long time. They supplied pure drinking water for all people of this region, and far away including small villages and they helped people to find their family members missing in the cyclone. They showed kindness to the children and helped them to forget the pain of their body and minds. They teach and train the children and people for health care about how to live and care.
